Nelson's 21st Birthday | Beach-wear Party

It was Nelson’s 21st birthday on Feb 3 [read here]. Since it fell on Wednesday, his parents decided to hold him a birthday party on Saturday feb 6. Besides, Feb 6 was his sis, Jessie’s birthday too. Hitting 2 birds with one stone! Brilliant…

As usual, we the best buddies were invited to his party. The Melaka gang driving up were Nelson himself, Mj, Chua, Michelle (our best buddies gang new member), Pei Ling, and I. Andy (also newcomer) would be meeting us after his 23km marathon that day. David also droved up with his girlfriend on Sat. Our old friend, Yi Jian who’s working in Penang would also be driving down to KL. Tat Heng (KL-ite) were also participating in the same run as Andy and would be joining us shortly after.

We drove up from Melaka in 2 cars on Friday. The party was held in his house in Taman Anggerik, Cheras. I’d blog about his house deco before. You can see the entry here [link]. Since Nelson is a sunshine boy (a swimmer and water polo player) he created a theme for his party - Beach!

And all of us were required to dressed up in beach wear. As we were staying at his house and were the first to arrive at the venue, we were to help out with the preparation and decoration. We started working since 9 in the morning, looking for coconuts and leaves to be placed on the tables. We also blew up some balloons to make an arch as well as decorating the house with the presents from the Melaka party. The front yard were also redecorated to fulfill the beach theme. By the time we finished everything, it was already evening. One by one we went to bathe and made up our self for the party.

Nelson was at the hype of using videocam, so we were asked to carry around the videocam and recording interesting stuff: people, things, decorations, food, etc etc.

Too bad ‘cos we’ve been too tired from the preparation and had forgotten to snaps photos of the place and decoration. Trust me, they were awesome!!! Arghhh… the more I talk about this the more sad I am while writing this… I'd like to show you the video but I don't have it with me yet, so I'll skip it. :P


I prefer photos than videos, to be honest as they're more attractive. Anyway, notice what I wore? Yup, it’s a bikini underneath that checkered T but I was too shy to reveal too much flesh. That's also why I don't feel like uploading the video 'cos Mj opened up my shirt to show off the bikini. Scare you guys bleed la... LOL :p Anyway, it was my birthday present from MJ and Nelson, purposely for me to wear it to this party. Naughty naughty couple….

Karaoke Competition

Though it’s a beach-theme party, Nelson’s mum wanted to have a Karaoke competition since some of the elderly like her friends were invited and they love singing. So, we were also in-charges of the contest.

Most of us didn’t get to finish our meal as the contest had begun but fortunately I finished mine. Luckily, there’s a karaoke system in the house just like a KTV and that eases our job. We were also forced to take part to make it merrier - the more the merrier.

In between the contest, the cake-cutting ceremony took place. Nelson’s cake was also drawn with an airplane but was much more nicer than the one Italy did for the Melaka party. Wtf!

As for his sis, Jessie, Nelson’s mum prepared some cupcakes for her without her knowing. Jessie thought there’ll be no cake for her and when the cake is taken out, she was so happy. Well, everybody love surprises, don’t we?

Too bad we didn’t get to taste any of the cakes as we were busy with the karaoke contest. Nelson, you owe us cake!!!! :p

After he cake cutting ceremony, the karaoke competition continues. At the end of the day, Mj, Pei Ling, David and I won the consolation prize, pretty much to our surprise. Well, not for David as he’s a singer in local café. I was very surprised as I had lost my voice that day due to sore throat. Nonetheless, I was really happy to have receive the first ever prize for a singing competition. Never thought I could win one.

The party ends concurrently with the Karaoke contest and most of the elderly went back. Jessie also went out for her second round celebration with her friends, leaving us the youngsters dominating the house. Then, Nelson opened his presents one by one.

Remember I told you about the deco? By the time, we thought of taking photos of the deco, they had all been cleared. Sob sobzzzz T.T All we can do is just some group photos in the living room.

Shortly after that, Andy and Tat Heng joined us after the run. And we went to Lookout Point to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Too bad we were too exhausted, we did not take any photos. Sorry folks! This post has very limited photos to be shown.
