Puduraya New Waiting Area

Ever since Puduraya renovated, I've not been to its new waiting area. Puduraya has always been a one stop center for me whenever I travel from Melaka to Raub or from Raub back to Melaka. Very seldom that I have to wait at the station unless of course if I arrive early and am waiting for the bus to Melaka.

During my last visit to KL (post-christmas shopping) I finally found some time to have a look at this new waiting area while I waited 30 minutes for my bus back to Melaka.

They have a CCTV Control Unit (or they do have it all this while but unnoticed?). If this is a new addition to the station, I shall say it's a good news to everyone. At least it's gonna be safer (well, if it works effectively and efficiently) but how efficient can it be? Well... we shall see.

To my surprise the place looks really nice to me. I instantly felt as if I was in the airport waiting area instead (although I've not been to an airport waiting area before as I never fly). Well, I'll cut the crap and let the photos do the talking...

Pretty nice isn't it? But to my surprise not many people is actually fully utilising this new facility. Many people is still waiting for their buses at the old waiting are near the ticket counters. Maybe they are still unaware of this new facility or they feel inconvenient to climb up the stairs. Nonetheless, I can see fewer people at the old waiting area now. At least, it is least crowded as it used to be and far less stuffy too.

Having a new waiting area to me is a good thing after all (though hell knows how much overstatement of budget is involved) as there are ample of seats for the people especially the elderly. They no longer have to stand for hours waiting to board their bus. Perfect area for agoraphobic and those who want to listen to music comfortably without having to blast their music (thus hurting the ear drum) to avoid additional 'remix' from the surrounding noise. Novel lovers like me can even read books in peace.

And as there are ample of seats, you can even reserve an extra chair for your luggage. No more dirty bags for putting them on the floor :p

  4. Been there once, but it's too spacious there. Although it's more fully equipped and more neat than below, but I heard there is a new bus station building in progress now at Bdr Tun Razak. They said the pudu bus stop is going to move there as their main. Not sure whether true or not though. If there are going to build a new one, what for upgrading this. Faint.
