I did mention that i went to Fann Wong and Christopher Lee's wedding in Melaka on Oct 11, didn't i? Oh wait... I didn't. lol. Unless for those following my twitter, or in my facebook list. :p
You might thought i'm lying, right? How can an ordinary girl like me who is not related to any of them got invited to their wedding? Hey, i wasn't lying okay? here's the prove!
The groom and the brideTaadah! See? I wasn't lying. I did go. Who says i have to be in the invitation list in order to attend the dinner? Those guests paid (angpaos) to go , but i, on the other hand, was paid to attend. Even better! lol^^
Well, to be honest, i was paid to serve those guests. :(

Vanessa and IYes, it's actually my part time job as a banquet waitress in Renaissance Hotel again. A lot of people had been asking me if the pay is good. Honestly? The pay isn't really that good. In fact, it's very low if you compare it with promoter's pay and longer working hours too besides the fact that it requires much more of physicality and it's more tiring. It sucks but that's what i do whenever i'm free and when there's no other job around. It's extra pocket money to me. And if i'm lucky, i might be able to see celebrity, like this time around. Haha.
We went in about 12pm that day. After having lunch at the worker's canteen, we were briefed by the manager and his assistant. Since it's a "Celebrity Wedding", the hotel paid much more attention to it as reporter's will be coming and if anything ever goes wrong, it's gonna be in the papers. Even the briefing itself were longer and more torturing than usual. We spent the whole afternoon setting up the tables.
Finally learnt how to fold the napkin
It's Chinese Set that day, so it means there would be food presentation. And i hate that most!

We finished setting the table around 4 something. Then goes the second briefing. Each and every one of us were assigned to our specific table and even got some lecture by the Assistant Manager on the dos and don'ts. We even had a few rounds of rehearsal after that.
I'm assigned to Table 25 of Mediacorp but it's far from the stage :(
Thought i would be serving some celebrities, but i was wrong!
The whole rehearsal thingy was damn boring. We practiced rounds after rounds until they were finally satisfied and let us go for a dinner break before we were called to standby at 5.30pm. The dinner starts at 7 and we were instructed to stand by our tables till dinner time. We stood there for more than an hour before dinner starts and ouch! my legs hurts... Though bored of waiting, we took the opportunity to take some pictures.

I thought working for this wedding dinner would be fun where I could see some celebrities, snap some nice photos or take their autographs. I was wrong. Once the dinner starts, we were all busy like hell. Food presentation, serving drinks, changing plates, guests asking for this and that. I had to walk here and there, in and out and the managers were stricter than ever! Besides, the table i was serving are all men in their 30s-50s and they have an appetite for beers. I had to keep refilling until the bar finally stopped serving it.
You must have thought i could take some photo with Fann Wong and Christopher lee right? But, no i didn't. Though the guests of my table left early, I had to clear the table and helped my friends who still needed to serve desserts. By the time dinner ended, the bride and groom had disappeared! I was told they had already went up to their suite. All that left were just the waitress, some friends of the grooms and possibly relatives.
Fortunately, i managed to take some photos with some other celebrities.

I have no idea who he is as i don't watch Singapore channels

We then found this on the pathway to the guest lift. Photo is a must!
Ye Shiping* saw us taking this photo just as he was about to enter the lift and decided to join us. Wow! That was surprising!

I went home super exhausted that night and packed my belongings for my journey back home the following day. It's the beginning of a trimester break. And during the break, my knee turned blue black. It had swollen! Reason being i slipped and fell in the kitchen that night. :(
I worked 13 hours, no picture with Fann and Chris, no autographs, but this. And of course, my wage... :D
By the way, i still think the Singapore wedding is more grand!

the managers will never alloww us to serve them VIPs/VVIPs sure will be served by those experienced one. nola. not that hurt. that's y i was shocked when i saw it swollen. I never thought it would turned out like that since i dont feel much pain... haha
